What is Airflow?

Airflow uses a fine spray of air, water and powder to lift stains from tea, coffee, red wine and smoking. It reaches between teeth and around braces and implants, and is gentle on enamel, fillings and crowns. Your teeth feel very smooth afterwards.

  1. 1
    Air
A fine, gentle spray that carries everything to the tooth surface.
  2. 2
    Water
Rinses away the stain and keeps things comfortable.
  3. 3
    Fine powder
Lifts stains from tea, coffee, red wine and smoking.

Airflow brings back your teeth’s natural shade but does not change their colour. For a whiter shade, ask about teeth whitening.

Why gum health matters

Gum disease is very common and often painless at first. Signs include bleeding when you brush, red or swollen gums, bad breath and, later, loose teeth. Left untreated it can lead to tooth loss, but early gum disease can usually be reversed with professional cleaning and a good routine at home.

How often should I see a hygienist?

Most people benefit from a visit every six months. If you have gum disease, braces, implants or build up tartar quickly, your hygienist may suggest coming more often.

Hygienist prices

  • Scale and polish with a hygienist: £77, or £143 with Airflow

Hygienist FAQs

Does it hurt?
Most people find it comfortable. If your teeth or gums are sensitive, tell your hygienist and they can use a numbing gel.
My gums bleed when I brush. Should I stop?
No. Bleeding is usually a sign of inflammation. Keep brushing gently, clean between your teeth and book an appointment.
Do I need a check-up first?
No. You can book straight in with a hygienist, and we will let you know if anything needs a dentist to look at it.
